Deidra McNeill-Gibson
Deidra McNeill-Gibson has been a secretary for over 24 years. She notes that what distinguishes Dr. Walker from other employers she has worked for is the care that he shows for his employees. She feels that he sees her as not only an employee but as a person - She works with Dr. Walker not just for Dr. Walker. All of this translates to a committed team that can best serve any patient who enters the center.
Ms. McNeill-Gibson is frequently the first person that gets asked questions by new patients. They are often concerned about a variety of issues from chemotherapy, such as hair loss or how it will impact their health. Because she works so closely with the medical team, she is able to make sure that patients ask these questions to Dr. Walker and get the right information. She also tries to inform them about the three wonderful nurses that work at the Oncology Center of Central Baltimore and how they can be superb sources of information as well.
Deidra notes that she has observed that at the Oncology Center of Central Baltimore the patients’ needs always come first. “Here we help patients to overcome the problems of transportation, insurance, and payments. We also offer problems with medication problems … Patients here at the Oncology Center of Central Baltimore are not just patients, they are family … We not only treat them, we care for them.
